my sewing machine

I wanted to blog about this thing since the day I got it but I said, I’ll do it another day. But that day didn’t come until now when I landed on somebody else’s blog about sewing.

my so seldom used sewing machine

This is my Toyota electric sewing machine. I got it as a present from my husband…well, I actually asked him to buy it for me and so he did. I got it during my last trimester (yeah, that long ago and I’m just blogging about it now) because I was sort of inspired to sew back then.

I am not skilled with sewing but I can sew (It’s another thing to prove that I am not all ipad/iphone/mac-owning airhead. There are also some other things I can do other than cross my legs and tap on my gadgetries. LOL). Back home, my mom’s small factory has different sort of clothes-making-machines. I was allowed to try those machines and eventually learned how to operate most of them.

So anyway, back to my sewing machine. I just used it once when I sew my baby’s sling (baby carrier). Later on, I will use it for sewing pillow cases, beddings, some simple baby clothes, some simple dresses for me, and more. I hope that I can have sometime to really use it soon. It’s such a nice thing to have…if only I have more time to use it.

This is the baby sling i made for my baby. I sewed it during my last trimester.

our kitchen arrived yesterday

We ordered it seven weeks ago from KIKA. KIKA is one of the biggest upper end furniture superstores in Austria. The others are LINER and LUTZ. We also have IKEA here in Graz and they have some kitchens at cheaper prices but we wanted something really good for our kitchen—something that could last for decades so we went all out for it.

KIKA's delivery truck

The truck came at around 9:00am yesterday.

This is our living room

These are just half ofthe things unloaded from the truck. They took all the space of our living room. Glad that the living room furniture are not yet there. Waahh! It’s such a big mess!

our kitchen slowly being mounted

The workers said they’ll be done mounting the kitchen in two days.

a day's work

This is what they finished yesterday. I really hope they’ll finish everything today because I am very excited to use it!  And oh, by the way the floating ceiling was my idea. We had it made by professional but the design was from hubby. The cool lights were his ideas and design too.
